Design Process – OTI Interiors

Initial Consultation.

Our initial consultation takes place in our Chesterfield-based interior showroom, where you’ll be invited to explore our range of samples, materials, brands, and finishes. During this meeting, we’ll discuss your budget, dimensions, timeline, and overall design vision. We encourage you to bring along any inspiration you have; Pinterest boards, magazines, or anything else that reflects your ideas for the project.

Site Survey.

We will visit your space to carry out a full site measure, enabling us to provide an accurate quote for the project. During this visit, we’ll take a set of reference photos to assess access routes, levels, ventilation and extraction, while completing a technical survey.

Initial Design.

Behind the scenes, we’ll develop a detailed model of your space to ensure everything fits seamlessly. We’ll explore layout options, refine the aesthetic direction, and consider functionality and flow in detail.Following the site survey, you’ll be invited back to our showroom where we’ll present the initial design concept. This will be an opportunity to review the scheme together, share your feedback, and collaborate on refinements to ensure it’s perfectly suited to you. You’ll also be introduced to a selection of samples, colour palettes, and finishes to help bring the design to life.

Developed Design.

After our feedback session, we’ll make any changes we’ve discussed and fine-tune the design. We’ll then share a full visual package with you, confirming all the key details; products, tile layouts, lighting, and heating plans – so everything is clear. At this stage, we’ll also be able to give you a final cost breakdown and a clear timeline for the project.

Technical design.

We’ll prepare the full set of technical drawings ready for the project to begin, including plans, elevations, sections, and detailed dimensions. We’ll also produce a ‘pre-fit pack’, giving everything needed on site to ensure a smooth and efficient installation.

Install

Once the project is signed off, we allow around two weeks for technical preparation and one week for all materials to arrive. Installation will then begin, typically around four weeks after sign-off. We’ll carry out a full snagging check to ensure everything is finished to the highest standard and resolve any outstanding details.

After Care

A month after completion we will pay a visit to check that everything is as it should be, and ensure that you are happy with your new space.
